Fishing update for 2015..................

Dear all;

Profound apologies for lack of updates. I have a couple of recent updates to start things off again but first a couple of general points about the water level and condition to catch up and answer some queries:
  • The water level is low due to a faulty valve in the tower. Repair is out of the control of the fishing association with decisions and plans are being made by Welsh Water. The intention of Welsh Water is to allow the level to fall to a naturally low level and then drain and complete the repair. At present, the level is not nearly low enough to consider this so we continue as normal (or as normal as possible).

  • Although levels are much lower than many have seen before, there is still plenty of water in the reservoir and fish are moving, feeding and thriving as they always have. They certainly continue to put up a good fight and are as acrobatic as ever!

  • I fished the reservoir yesterday (15th August 2015) and the water looked fantastic. Very clear and no sign of algae. I was out in a boat but there were several anglers fishing on the East Bank where fish were being caught (and lost). Although the contours of the available bank has changed due to the low level and newly exposed areas, there are many areas available with less snags to interfere with back-casts.

  • The stocking programme is continuing (and never stopped). The same principles are being applied with the intention to maintain the same head of fish as in previous seasons.

Fishing update w/e 25th July 2015:

Hello, regret fishing difficult at present, water level is quite low and anglers must take extra care when approaching the water at various parts of the reservoir.
Water is very clear and fish are showing just below the surface and searching for food. Fish are being caught at various parts of the reservoir especially near the pontoon, north and east banks (near the tower).
